Corrie Fee - May 2015

Corrie Fee is a majestic glacial valley in Glen Clova Angus. Earlier in the month I had the pleasure of going on a little hike up to the waterfall at the back wall of the corrie - Such a  beautiful walk and couldn’t have had a better day for it.

I was surprised and delighted at the magnitude of the bowl carved into the mountain like a giant armchair that only becomes apparent upon leaving the forest path which abruptly opens into the massive magnificent space.

Couldn’t help but think of Nan Shepherds writing in ‘The Living Mountain’ specifically the chapter on water -

“This is the river. Water, that strong white stuff, one of the four elemental mysteries, it is so simple that it frightens me. It wells up from the rock, and flows away. For unnumbered years it has welled from the rock, and flowed away. It does nothing, absolutely nothing, but be itself.”
