Poland - 2015

Upon arriving in Poland our first mission was to drive south from Kęty to Zakopane and the Tatry Mountains on the boarder of Slovakia. We had a slightly boozy night on the vodkas and set out ‘first thing’ in the morning into the hills. The weather was constantly changing with thick fog, rolling clouds and a few pools of lush sunlight.

Along side beautiful scenery we saw interesting flaura and even a wild goat!

That night we had a BBQ with some beers, sausages and some other delicious Polish treats.

After the mountains we spent a day in the city of Bielsko. It was a perfect day for a wander, we visited many of the tourist attractions, the numerous antique shops and a few of the sunlit terraced beer gardens.

One of my particular favorites was Bielsko Castle and Museum which was super interesting but also had a very modern roof fitted in the courtyard of the castle which was very cool.

I love the mix of old and new, lines, contrast and reflections.

We also spent a day at the Wieliczka Salt Mine outside Krakow which was fun! We went to 100m below the ground on a dizzying wooden staircase down the mine shaft and saw some amazing caverns as well as beautiful sculptures and artifacts - 12 of which are on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list - It also looked a bit like the Mines of Moria.

Finally here are a few more snaps we took as we wandered around Kęty and the surrounding area.

Hope you enjoyed the photos and if you get the chance I would definitely recommend a visit!
